Lara Croft arrives in Uncharted wearing 4 outfits, 2 optional hairstyles and her signature red sunglasses
N network:
introduce
- Tomb Raider's Lara Croft arrives in the Western Ghats wearing 4 outfits from her classic era and two optional hairstyles. Replacements for each garment are:
- City = Cradle of Life
- Rural = Classic
- Pirate = Nevada
- Western = Angel of Darkness
- Nadine is now wearing an outfit similar to Curtis's. I know people want a replacement for Anaya, but this is called the classic version for a reason.
- The Jeep has changed from red to blue, inspired by The Last Revelation.
- All equipment (ropes, pitons and flashlights) are hidden.
- All weapons are hidden when holstered, except for the ever-present dual pistols and grenades.
Options
In addition to the main Classic pack, you can download 4 add-on mods that will change Lara Croft's hair and whether she wears glasses:
- Braids with glasses
- Braids without glasses
- Ponytail with glasses
- Ponytail without glasses
By default the main mod installs braids without glasses, but I added this as an add-on pack so you can easily switch between each option. Please make sure to install the main mod before applying one of these options.
Install
- Download and install Fluffy Mod Manager
- Put the downloaded .RAR file into: Games\UC4\mods
- Use the Mod Manager to install the main mod.
- (Optional) Install one of the optional hair/glasses modules.
- Play.
Errors/Problems
Using the modding tools and processes available, the mod has some limitations and bugs that I can't fix.
- TLL has texture issues that I can't fix from a modding perspective. However, in-game make sure to use these graphics settings: DLSS = On (it doesn't matter which option) and Texture/Filtering = High or Ultra. If you're still experiencing any residual graphical issues, try setting Ambient Occlusion to Low. All other graphics settings can be what you want. (Thanks to art360 for testing).
- For some reason, the Cradle of Life costume wants to revert to the vanilla texture for the first two chapters (including the prologue). When you reach Chapter 3 Homecoming, textures will work as expected. The only solution I could find was to select the "Western" or "Pirate" outfit from the rewards menu and then switch back to the "Urban" outfit. Unfortunately, the bonus costume options aren't unlocked until you complete the game. COL textures are always deformed in the model library.
- In one of the last cutscenes where Lara and Sam use switches to change the train tracks, the game will crash midway due to not liking the edited mesh. The only solution is to skip the cutscene as soon as it starts or uninstall the cutscene's mod. I recommend skipping it as it's only about 20 seconds long and doesn't really cover anything.
- Lara will occasionally appear with a flashlight and holstered pistol on her hip and a holstered rifle on her back (mostly around some cutscenes). This is a game that forces those skeletons back into their original positions beyond repair. Fortunately, this only happens a few times throughout the game.
- Pitons (climbing tools) obtained in the Shiva Fort in the Western Ghats room are not visible. The only way I could hide the gear from Lara's body was to remove it from the game, and it had to be hidden otherwise it would get awkwardly wedged into her body.
- Braid/ponytail occasionally worn through the backpack. Physics and collision editing is currently unavailable, so I did my best.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
