An ULTRAKILL mod that plays a sound whenever the style rank in-/decreases

About this mod Author’s original text

UltraRankSounds

This is a mod that plays a sound whenever your style rank increases or decreases. \

If you have any suggestions, make an issue in the github repo, message me on discord (__bocchi_chan__) and/or twitter or join the \

discord server and send suggestions \

in the #ultraranksounds-suggestions channel.

[!NOTE]

The current sounds are made using Microsoft SAM.

Feel free to use this mod inside modpacks, but please credit me if you do so.

Current features

  • Disabling all sounds (so you can have the mod loaded but disable it in a plugin preset)
  • Changing announcer volume (will not be synced to master volume)
  • Enabling, if sounds should be played when the rank decreases
  • Multiple sounds for one style rank (for more variety in gameplay)
  • Customizable sounds for both ascension and descension (by replacing the audio files)
  • Sound pack installation & management
  • Support for.mp3,.ogg,.wav and.flac
  • Sound volumes now amplifyable up to 10x volume
  • Customizable sounds for each style bonus (hopefully with support for custom style bonuses (??? unsure))

Planned features

  • Sound pack install/export buttons

Installation

There are 2 options:

  • Install using any mod manager like r2modman or mod manager.
  • Download the zip from the releases and extract it's plugins folder to ULTRAKILL/BepInEx.

Customizing sounds

To find where your sounds are, open the UltraRankSounds panel in the plugin configs. \

Then click on Open sound pack and an explorer window should appear with your current rank sound files. \

Customizing style rank sounds

Which file names associate to which rank should be pretty self-explanitory. \

Files that do not start with downrank- are the rank ascension sounds and those with the prefix are the descention sounds.

Files now do not have to have the same file extension, only the name \

of the file has to start with the short name of the style rank.

For example:

  • downrank-Ass.ogg would be registered as the downrank sound for Anarchic.
  • ULTR-gabriel-voiceline-spoken-by-gianni-himself.wav would be registered as the ULTRAKILL rank up sound.

Customizing style bonus sounds

Inside your sound pack folder, you should see a folder called stylebonuses. \

Open that folder and add whatever style sound you want for style bonuses. \

To see the available style ranks in the default base game and their corresponding texts, see the json file containing all of them.

For example:

  • ultrakill.kill.wav would be registered as the sound for the + KILL style bonus.

[!NOTE]

There is only support for one sound per style bonus.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
