Settings

All the settings for the mod are available by pressing Menu hotkey (F4 by default). The main screen of the menu contains the following options:

Playback

  • Show current track panel indefinitely: once checked, this option will make the "Now playing" panel to be present the whole time the track is playing
  • Custom tracks volume boost: if your track is still too quiet, you can always add up to 10dB to it. Please use it carefully
  • Save volume boost for each individual track: volume level might vary from song to song, so this feature will allow you to set a volume boost for each track individually
  • Always play an intro part: intro section of the song is always going to be played despite the track position in the playlist
  • Resume the last song from where it left off: have you died or just closed CG while listening to 2 hours mix? Don't worry, the song will continue from where it left off
  • Discord & Steam integration: shows the current track name alongside wave number in Discord and Steam

Playlist editing

  • Prevent duplicate tracks: prevents tracks duplication. Once checked deletes existing duplicates
  • Enable tracks preview: allows to listen to the first 5 seconds of a track by clicking on it in the terminal

For other settings like key bindings and Themes, use the respective tab.

Downloader

Now you can download your songs directly from YouTube by simply providing a URL to a song or playlist. Downloaded songs will be saved inside the YouTube folder in Cybergrind terminal and you can add them into your playlist right away be Refreshing the page.

The flow should be straightforward enough, but here's a couple of things to consider:

YouTube may or may not want you to get logged in

Depending on a network you're trying to download your songs from, YouTube might decline your requests unless you're logged in. The mod will let you know if that's the case and will provide a set of instructions on how to overcome this issue by exporting you YouTube cookies.

_Important: I highly recommend using a dedicated, fresh YouTube account for that due to security concerns_

No matter how hard I try there's a bunch of tracks I just can't download. Why?

It could be many things. Age restriction, sensitive topics. Hell, some videos are just deleted for good, you're not gonna get these.

I seem not to be able to download any of them

See p. 1, most likely you're going to have to refresh and re-exports your cookies

Playback menu

Allows you to switch between the tracks mid-game and includes a seek bar for navigating the song. Available by pressing ~ by default.

If the whole menu is an overkill for you, just switch between tracks using Next track hotkey.

Current track HUD

A HUD element that shows currently played track's info. Available for all the HUD variants.

Switching playlists

This feature allows you to switch between up to 6 different playlists

Clear playlist / Load all tracks from a folder

Allows to wipe the current playlist or add all the tracks from the currently selected folder simultaneously.

Effects replacement

A new Cybergrind config menu called "Sound Effects" is added into the Terminal which, obviously enough, allows you to replace a certain sound effects.

Please remember the files used for sound effects must be placed at ULTRAKILL/Cybergrind/Effects

Calm and battle themes

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin

  1. The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
  2. Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
  3. Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
  4. Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.

Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.

Dependencies

Install these first, or the mod will not work:
