Lucky Wheel
Adds a new block to Ultimate Chicken Horse: the Lucky Wheel trap.
Early state. This mod is in early development. Expect bugs, missing features and changes between versions. Feedback and bug reports are welcome.
The block works in local games. Online play is not finished yet, see the limitations below.
The block
The Lucky Wheel is its own block with its own look: a purple platform with a gold rim and a row of lights, and a wheel of fortune mounted on a pole above it. It shows up in the Party Box and in the inventory book (Creative and Free Play).
When a player lands on top of the block, they are frozen in place and the wheel spins for about three seconds. Where it stops decides what happens:
| Field | Result |
|---|---|
| Red | The player dies. The kill counts for whoever placed the block. |
| Green | The player is released and receives a coin. |
| Blue / grey | The player is released. |
The coin works like a regular coin: it floats above the player and only scores if they reach the goal. If they die first, it is lost.
While the wheel is spinning, the block cannot catch anyone else. A released player has to leave the block before it can catch them again.
Risk levels
Every further spin by the same player within one round is more dangerous and more rewarding. The pointer colour shows the level.
| Spin in this round | Pointer | Death fields | Green pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | white | 1 | 1 coin |
| 2nd | orange | 2 | 2 coins |
| 3rd and later | red | 3 | 3 coins |

Known limitations
- Online is not synchronised yet. Each machine rolls its own result and only catches its own characters. Only the affected player sees the wheel spin and the coin.
- Online, every player needs the mod. Without it a client cannot display the block in the Party Box.
- The block has no entry of its own in the block frequency rules. How often it appears in the Party Box is set with Block.PartyBoxChance.
- In the inventory book the block is placed automatically on the page with the most free space, so its position may look a little off.
- Saved levels store it as a regular three-wide block.
- If the pick timer runs out and the game picks automatically, the player probably receives a regular block instead.
- The coin is not a real coin object: it cannot be stolen and has no sound.
- Graphics are placeholders generated in code.
- Log messages and config descriptions are in German.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
- For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.
Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
