Beat random campaign levels using limited units and items

RoguelikeMode

Totally Accurate Roguelike Simulator... or something

Quick Rundown

In Roguelike mode, you play through random campaign levels using limited units and budget

Cards

You can only place units whose "Cards" you've collected, and only 1 unit per card. You can view your current cards with the "Deck" button

Gold

The battle budget starts at 1000 and can be improved by selling cards, picking levels with bigger enemy armies (each level pays a share of its enemy army's value), etc. Using the budget in the campaign level does NOT reduce it permanently

Levels

Right click a level card to see the enemy army (and any units the level gives you) before you pick it

Faction Bonuses

If you collect enough unique units within the same faction, you can get a free bonus that improves all those units! Right click the card to see what it does

Speed Bonus

Every level has a chance to give you a free unit (the treasure chest), but every 10s the chance is reduced

Items

You can buy items in shops which have unique effects and bonuses for all units. Right click the item to see what it does!

Crown Level

If you successfully beat a run, you unlock "Crown Levels" which make the game harder. How high can you go?

Mod Compatibility

Factions added by other mods join the card pool automatically

Custom Runs

You can modify any gameplay settings, starting cards, faction rarity, etc. from the Config Menu

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
  3. For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.

Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
