About this mod Machine translation
This is an updated and slightly enhanced version of the "Select Supplementary Alcohol" model made by rhymeorc with his permission.
This mod allows you to choose the alcohol used when refilling alchemy while meditating. This mod has been licensed with the permission of rhymeorc, the author of the original mod. This mod does this by cycling through the available Alcohols using keys that you can set in the key bindings menu. There is another key that can be rebind to display the currently selected alcohol level. I also localized his English mod so that it displays correctly in the keybindings menu, and added those keys to the game menu for better access. Notice:
Note that alcohol is not selected when you first start the game. So just use your assigned key to cycle through the alcohol so it refills your potion.
The default key to cycle through available alcohol is: F7
The default key to display the currently selected alcohol is: F8
Of course, these keys can be changed via the in-game Keybind menu.
I've also added the raw strings file for those who want to help me translate into their preferred language. As of now, there is only English localization.
A few notes before installation:
- I've included the readme file made by the original author for more detailed instructions if you need it. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask them and I'll do my best to troubleshoot.
- I didn't test this mod with the mod manager as I don't use it personally, however, you are more than welcome to try it out and report back if it works.
- Also make a backup of your Bin folder in the witcher 3 directory and your ini settings and save it in the Documents/the witcher 3 folder just in case.
Install:
- Download this mod manually and open the zip file using your favorite archive opening tool such as 7zip or WinRAR.
- Drag and drop the "modChooseRefillAlcohol" folder into your mods folder.
- Go into the "modChooseRefillAlcohol" folder and open the "mod_input.settings" file. Select all and copy and paste everything into the "input.settings" file at the beginning. The file is located in your Documents/Witcher 3 folder.
- In order for you to regain access to the keys via the gaming keyboard menu, open the file "input.xml setting.txt" and select and copy all the contents then go into the "input.xml" file located in "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc" and paste it under this line:
<Group builder =“Input”id =“PCInput”displayName =“controls_pc”tags =“
keybinds ”> <VisibleVars>
- This step is very important, the line you want to copy from the file is pasted directly below this line.
- At this stage, if you have any other mods, it's a good idea to run the script merge, unmerge all your previously merged mods and re-merge them.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
