Install
This reset requires the latest kit and STLM 2.2 (Super Turbo Lighting Module)
- Download stlm from the page.
- Put modturbolighting into directory:
Example -c:\gog games\The witcher 3 wild hunt\mods
- Download the latest reshade.
- Run the installer: reshade_setup_3.0.6.exe.
- Select game - find your switcher3.exe.
- Click Direct3D 10+.
- Download vivative fx.ini and copy it to the switcher 3 directory.
Example -c:\gog games\the witcher 3 wild hunt\bin\x64
- Loading the game and compiling the effects takes a few seconds.
If there are multiple reshade.ini files, the following steps will be performed.
- Press SHIFT-F2 to open configuration.
- Select vivative fx.ini from the drop-down menu.
- If it doesn't compile, click Reload.
Thanks to the beauty of the latest reshade framework, any changes that need to be made can be made on the fly. You can make the necessary changes to adjust any setting by bringing up the configuration menu (SHIFT-F12). Don't like borders. Knock them out. Don't like the film texture. Click Close. You get it.
If you want to save frames and playback at 1080p, I recommend turning off SMAA.
If you are not anti-aliasing when playing at 1440p or higher, then I recommend leaving SMAA on.
Again, this reset is also a personal preference and things can easily change. You just scroll down in the configuration menu and fiddle with the correct shader settings.
Simplified version
I have no current plans to do a stripped down version of this preset. But that might change if I had the time to do so.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
