Replace body_03_wa__triss.w2mesh with a shorter model. Blender is used to basically select and delete all vertices below the cutoff point. The mesh is extruded inward to create a "double-sided fabric" to avoid textureless scenes. Both triss.w2ent and ...\quest\triss.w2ent have been edited to create a "clean" mod where Triss will only equip elegant gowns during life and death missions. This mod currently only supports Non-DLC Triss, but if anyone is really interested I can work around that. The mesh has no LOD falloff and will maintain maximum quality until 98 meters. It may be fixed, but this is the first version of the mod I've been able to get working, so it's pretty simple.
notes:
This mod is non-destructive and requires no backup. Just drag and drop to install and drag and drop to remove. You can force the appearance of a dress using the console command [appearance(triss_dress)]. This mod should be compatible with most if not all other Triss Appearance Mods. Only the body_03_wa__triss.w2mesh file was adjusted, no textures were changed (you won't see the texture.cache file). Compatible with GeraltDoppler, no adjustments required! Why does this mod exist in November 2018? Since I finally got a desktop to play TW3 on, it took me about two weeks to get it working properly. Maybe there are others like me struggling to figure out how to use Mod TW3 in 2018. This mod is essentially a proof of concept for me, I can now change the mesh and entity files to adjust what NPCs wear.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
