Toussaint redefining (and worth seeing) perfection.
I set up my own re-preset for Witcher 3, but when I first saw Toussaint, the graphics/colors were terrible!
Too much yellow and oversaturated colors!
I hate it!
(Worth checking out these photos!)
So I tried a mod in to tweak the game files to fix the yellow issue, it was cool, but gave me (along with a few others) issues with loading times and loading almost every cutscene and chat selection....so.... no benefit.
Then I modified Toussaint's preset and the result was great, even better than the mod.
And I wanted to share it with you and know if other people like it...
I want you to look at your photos and/or give it a try.
> Important things to note/consider:
- This preset only uses SMAA, LumaSharpen (just a little bit, barely needed for The Witcher 3), Vibrance and Tonemap (this one does the job);
- If you go to other areas (not toussaint) it won't look very good and requires slightly disabling Tonemap and Vibrance;
- If you don't like the night (I do a lot) or in the fog, just un-resize the "Tonemap" in the "Home" tab of the window during that time;
- In the picture, all in-game post-processing is turned off except HBAO+;
- I use a 42" Lg TV as a monitor and the picture settings are to my taste, so it might be... that the color/brightness/contrast is different from the monitor;
- Remember to check the Gamma setting in the game, this preset will darken the image if it's too dark or too bright... but again... depends on your monitor/TV settings;
- I play the game in 3D, so if you see the goatee bug in the picture, that's what happens when I disable 3D in the game ; :P
- If I forget something, I'll add it later;
>Easy installation instructions:
- Remove any other mods/sweetfx that may be in the game folder;
- Extract the files/folders in the archive to "\Bin\x64" in the game's main folder;
- If you haven’t already, please download the Reshade 3.1.1 installer at “reshade.me”;
3A. Run it, look for the executable file of the game in the \bin\x64 folder, select directx 10+;
3B. "Yes" overwrites existing installation;
3C. Don't download effects collections (unless you want some effects I don't use in my presets, but remember to select the ones I use);
- That's it, F2 opens the reshape window, F12 enables/disables the effect, you can change it if you want;
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
