Do you want some war? Make it yourself!
The world is in the middle of a war between Nilfgaard and Redania, the wild hunt is looking for a gifted girl, and there are monsters everywhere, and I imagine the residents of Skellige are as patient as ever waiting for Ragnarok to come to their heads. All the dangers that await you on your journey are... wolves and drowners.
I'm very disappointed with this, as I always wanted to kill some minor characters with my old friend Vernon and what's left of his Temeria, or go through a full-on wild hunt invading Novigrad or something. So I have no skills in scripting and can barely do anything but turn on the computer, (so don't be offended!) and created a small console extension for myself. I modified the spawnt command of tmp_templates to allow you to spawn groups of enemies so that I could create nilfgaardian, redanian, temerian and skellige warriors for some interesting battles. I thought why not share it with the great community since I've had a few messages from people asking to release this little mod.
I figured anyone could make it themselves, but I couldn't find anything online, so I decided to try sharing it with you.
Install
I thought it would be possible to replace the original file, so just copy the txt. Save the file to your Witcher 3 Wild Hunt/content/content0/scripts/game folder and replace the existing file.
If any problems occur, please backup the tmp_templates file.
how to use it
Very simple. Same as the spawnt command that I think a lot of people know. For those who don't:
Click ~ to open the console
Input: e.g. spawnt(1,2). '1' is the class of the group to be generated. 1~9 is the judge, 139-140 is the wild hunter, etc. '2' is the distance from Geralt. So typing spawnt(1,2) will produce in front of you a set of prosecutors 2 (m? never thought of this).
You can spawn a lot of NPCs with this command, but unfortunately they are always hostile to the player, and there are no nilfgaardians or temerians. So I basically added: 1) Newly spawned npcs. 2) Be able to make them friendly to Geralt.
So, what you have to do is:
Open the console
Input: e.g. spawnt(10,5,1). '10' is the class of the squad (I will describe all classes later). '5' is the distance. The last '1' is the relationship to Geralt. If you set this to '1', they will be friendly to the player and will attack any enemy and anything hostile to you. If you set this to '0' (or just write nothing), they will be significant: hostile to everyone except bandits. I decided to do this because, as far as I know, there are three types of hostility in the wizarding world: monsters, gangsters, and rival players. It would be too cruel to make them monsters (although Radovid and his boy should fall into that category). This means they'll be friends with the Drowned and the Ghoul, which is a bit immersive. Enemy players won't have existing NPCs fighting them, which is also a bit strange if you want Wild Hunt to conquer the world. Therefore bandits are the most acceptable option: they will also attack you, farmers, guards and monsters. All in all, we all know, right: 'Evil is evil, smaller, bigger, medium... makes no difference'
Here are the squad lists you can generate
10~Nilfgaardians (Melee)
11~Nilfgaardians (Archers)
12~Temerians (Archers and Swordsmen)
13~Scoia'tael (3 dwarves and a bow girl)
14~Scoia'tael (Elven Archer)
15~Redanians (melee)
16~Redayans (Archers) 17~Brokvar Warriors
18~A cunning warrior
19~Roche Party (Archer + Melee)
20~Dark Lord Warrior
21~Dimeng Warrior
So, again. For example, you type: spawnt(10,1,1) - you will find in front of you a team of friendly and kind nilfgaardians. You enter: spawnt (18,30) - you get a squad of angry wily shields that dream of killing you and those good nilfgaardians as quickly as possible. Note that the vanilla group does not have the option to be set as friendly. I can't imagine a world where Geralt hangs out with the Inquisition and bandits, or plays with hunting hounds. …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
