Simple Alchemy Refill alchemy supplement
Inspired by wghost81's excellent Prep Mode, I like the corresponding base idea of this refill (key differences in bold).
Automatic refill when meditating is disabled.
To cook (unlock) any version of an alchemy item for the first time the same as vanilla, you need the original full recipe recipe list.
Oil no longer has an unlimited amount of application time. They now need to be refilled like potions/bombs/decoctions.
Manually fill a single alchemical item from the original recipe using the corresponding base ingredient (optional version replaced with the corresponding base + corresponding herb). This means that the corresponding base ingredients are dwarf spirit/alcohol/white gull for replenishing basic/enhanced/premium potions, dog oil/bear oil/alchemical ointment, saltpeter/stammelfords dust/alchemist's powder for bombs and dwarf spirit for decoctions.
The amount of base ingredients required for a refill, as well as the charge amount for a refill, are the same as in the original recipe (this means that some recipes require larger amounts of the corresponding alchemical base, and higher recipe levels gain more cost).
You can get refills of any previous version of an alchemical recipe, you don't have to limit it to the latest/most expensive version. Example: After unlocking the Superior Swallow and spending its cost in a contract battle, you find that you have no need to refill the Alcohest, while you still have the ingredients that allow you to craft or replenish the Enhanced Swallow (Alcohest): This mod allows you to refill the Enhanced Swallow with the corresponding base (Alcohest) after you unlock the Superior Swallow. After refilling a Swallow with the lower quality base of a production downgraded (enhanced version) Swallow, you can still get the higher quality version (premium version) again, just by refilling it with the premium version. You can choose to spend/what you get on the refill.
The Alchemy Table/Bed bonus is retained by increasing the cost of already charged potions and bombs by one.
The optional version of the mod lets you add the corresponding base + the corresponding herb from the original recipe (not to my liking, as I feel it encourages the player to compulsorily pick up any nearby herbs he finds, whereas the game's 100+ herb-filled alchemy recipes you'd like to unlock already provide enough herb-gathering opportunities to start with). Strongly recommended to use
Craft Alchemical Bases are used with this mod as it allows you to convert higher quality alchemical bases for recipes that require lower quality.
You can easily configure the amount of oil per cook/refill by editing \modSimpleAlchemyRefill\content\scripts\local\ModSimpleAlchemyRefillGetMaxOilCount.ws (default is 1).
The debug console command "fixalchemyrecipes" is included as a separate modfolder and removes the low-level version of the crafted alchemy project and restores the higher-level version to be the same as vanilla, in case you choose to uninstall the mod.
You can access the debug console by first adding the line "DBGConsoleOn=true" to the \The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt\bin\config\base\general.ini file and then pressing the tilde key in-game.
Install:
Simply extract the contents (both folders) into The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt\Mods folder. If you have other mods, run script merge to merge the files.
uninstall:
If you have merged the files before, please cancel the merge. Delete the modSimpleAlchemyRefill folder. Run the fixalchemyitems command in the debug console to remove lower level alchemy item stacks and restore higher quality items.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
