About this mod Machine translation

A collection of fully imported classes (all properties), without any functionality. Meant to serve as a baseline dependency for other mods to reduce merge conflicts.

Shared import

This mod does not provide any functionality on its own. It simply means that other mods' shared base dependencies need to import classes and properties to avoid unnecessary conflicts with cross-imports from other mods.

What's going on?

In addition to pure scripting functionality, W3 Script also provides access to (compiled) parts of game engine functionality and runtime objects. Some of these exports allow real-time adjustments. But not all exported engine functions/classes are exposed in vanilla game scripts.

Some mods add additional class/variable imports in their own scripts. But most of the time they don't import all the exported properties of the imported class. Unfortunately, this can create conflicts between mods that import the same or different parts of the properties in different files.

To avoid these unnecessary merge conflicts, this mod follows the following rules:

There are no dependencies on other mods thus creating a baseline layer that other mods can depend on without opening other dependency chains (and potential merge conflicts)

If a new class is imported in this mod, all of its properties and all of its (currently not imported) dependent classes are also fully imported

If new properties of a vanilla script import class are imported in this mod, all currently unimported properties will also be imported

How to install

This mod has been tested with GOG game version 1.30+, but it should work with all different 1.30+ versions (GOTY, GOG, Steam).

  • Unzip the downloaded software package into the Witcher 3 game directory. It should create a new modSharedImports folder in your W3 game's mods directory.
  • Launch the game and test if any scripts conflict with other installed mods. If necessary, merge with your favorite tool (e.g. Script Merger).

How to uninstall

Delete the modSharedImports folder from the witcher3/mods directory.

How to upgrade

Delete the modSharedImports folder from the witcher3/mods directory and extract the newly downloaded package into the Witcher 3 game directory as described in the installation instructions.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
