About this mod Machine translation

Fixed bug when only crafted (or purchased) runes/glyphs could be upgraded.

Requires DLC1! (Temel Armored Group)

This fix adds new recipes that allow you to convert "non-upgradeable" runes/glyphs into their normal variants.

The new recipe is sold by Merchant Bram, located near the Watson Bridge fast travel sign in White Orchard.

Oh, and you're also free to buy food recipes from him.

Install:

  • Back up "DLC/DLC1/content/metadata.store" and "DLC/DLC1/content/bundles/blob.bundle".
  • Extract the archive contents to the game folder (The Witcher 3 Wild Search), replacing the original files.

Technical details: The cause of this bug is that the developers forgot to replace the use of old (obsolete/deprecated) variants of these items.

For example, inside, there are two different items displaying the name "Glyph of the Lesser Queen": one is "Glyph of the Lesser Queen" and the other is "Shattered Core". To complicate matters further, Shattered Core actually has the properties of Glyph Queen, rather than the smaller version. So the stats shown on runes and glyphs are inconsistent, as some of us have noticed.

If you want to make some modifications (or maybe redo this fix without patching the dlc), you can find the actual fix (with the "_src" suffix) in the second archive.

[UPDATE] Per Elenear's request, I've added an alternative version of the patch (RuneFix_2for 1) where you convert the two problematic runes/glyphs into one normal one (instead of 1 for 1).

This module is based on food recipes

(And includes a slightly customized version of it).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
