About this mod Machine translation

This module blocks changes to the automatic control scheme when different inputs are detected. Useful if you use the Controller Button Layout module to map buttons to the keyboard.

A very simple script change that will prevent changes to the automation scheme whenever keyboard input is detected. The purpose of this mod is to help people using AntiMicro, Xpadder or similar mappers to avoid complications like randomly swapping potions.

NOTE: This works for levels other than "LockControlScheme=2". Even if you lock the control scheme in Hidden.ini, your game will still try to switch between keyboard and controller whenever the mapped keys are used repeatedly.

I hope this helps anyone having the same trouble with the controller module as I've seen a lot of people complaining about the same issue.

Additionally, this is the current mode for Xbox controllers (XB1 and 360), but adjusting to other controllers is very simple by following these steps:

Installation instructions:

  • ) Find your Witcher game, for example "SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3"
  • ) If you don't already have a folder named "Mods", create one.

3.) Unzip the files in the mods folder.

4.) Done!

If you have an Xbox One or 360 pad controller other than:

  • ) Open inputManager.ws using any text editor.

2.) Find line 54.3. ) On all the lines that say "IDT_Xbox1", swap it to the controller of your choice, for example: "IDT_PS4" for PS4, "IDT_Steam" for steampad.

4.) Save the file and restart the game.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
