About this mod Machine translation
Disables most in-game violence, such as dismemberment, finishing, and combat blood.
This MOD is disabled
Dismember a slain enemy
Terminator
Pool of blood after death of human NPC
The body parts scattered after the enemy's explosion
Red water after enemy dies in water
Combat blood (sword effects and ground strain)
Note that even with the reduced visual violence, the game still displays a lot of uncensored violence.
This module is not disabled :(
Blood effect after spinning explosion (quite annoying)
Live blood and gore (annoying, but rare)
Blood stains in the environment (annoying)
With this mode, the game should be on The Witcher 2 level in terms of player-induced visual violence (minus the battle blood). Unfortunately, the official modkit only crashes on my computer, so I can't work on models and textures.
If you have specific ideas on how to further reduce the visual violence, I'd be happy to hear it (any ideas on how to replace the combs in the environment with less ripping, censored bloody wounds, especially flying heads?) My goal is just to change the visual violence, not to change the Witcher lore.
If you don't like the red blood-like borders on the screen when health is low, check out this mod: Remove Low Health Effect
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
