Alt Quen upgrade tree has been changed to: Reflect 33% damage | Reflect 66% damage and reduce chip damage to 0 | Reflect 100% damage and increase HP by 50%
Detailed features (probably boring):
Alt Quen upgrade tree has been changed to: Reflect 33% damage | Reflect 66% damage and reduce chip damage to 0 | Reflect 100% damage and increase HP by 50%
Alt Quen drains 60 stamina for 0.3 seconds. You're also susceptible during startup, as well as at the end of the animation. You can get some protection from the blast shield, but that won't do much against enemies who won't be staggered by it.
Alt Quen works in synergy with Quen discharge, and normal Quen discharge works just like you are used to. (So with both skills fully upgraded you would reflect 125% damage, don't ask me why that makes sense, it's very complicated math')
Normal Quen drains 100 stamina and lasts for 8 seconds.
HP recipe is 1000 HP *marked strength.
While Quen absorbs all damage, you will still deal some damage (like 20) through the shield. This may not seem important, but it will, for example, reset the counter on a certain sword on BnW, glow yellow after 10 successful hits without getting hit, or use up some adrenaline.
If you get hit by an attack that does 1000 damage and your shield only takes 800 damage, you'll still take 200 damage, however, if you have armor that absorbs all damage, you won't take any massive damage
Master Bear Armor level 2 reward changes:
- Now only absorbs 50% of damage. Note that this also negates 50% of damage.
- However, since shields are calculated after the shield absorbs damage, your Tempered Shield will be twice as effective.
- Lasts 20 seconds (I feel like bear armor, its low stamina regeneration might work for this)
-Grandmaster fx will always show up even if you don't have the Quen Discharge skill.
Second life mutations no longer reflect damage. Even with Grandmaster Bear you can get 100% damage.
Stagg ignored Quinn.
Quen will not cancel critical effects but will prevent them.
Quen is uninterrupted when it comes to preventing serious impacts.
Quen prevents damage via gas, but only if Geralt has not been poisoned.
Enemies ignore armor while Quen is active, so when you're naked you'll recover their actual damage and deal no more damage.
If you have Quen Discharge, flies around you will drop like... flies.
The total damage Alt Quen can do is limited because you can't reflect more than your shield HP: with Quen Discharge and a fully upgraded Active Shield you can do (Signature Strength * 1875) damage. Note that some enemies are immune to lightning for some strange reason, such as when you're wandering around in the dark with a certain witch.
plan:
Removes enemy immunity to lightning and instead deals 0 lightning damage to Geralt's allies.
Balance mods if necessary
To add new features I should suggest more ideas or read good ideas in comments
compatibility:
Should be compatible with anything that doesn't modify quenEntity.ws, including Bear Armor mods and mods that alter master level skills. I made a lot of changes in that file (since this is my first script mod and it's pretty messy) so merging it will be a pain in the ass. But what other quenching variations would you even want?
The other files haven't been modified that much and merging them shouldn't be a problem.
If you want lower fall damage (I find it pretty useless, rolling damage after a fall is hardly an issue in this game, but each is to their own), Quen in Cutscenes or Show Quen Duration from Enhanced Quen just install Enhanced Quen and remove quenEntity.ws from Enhanced Quen/set AMQ to override it. Enhanced Quen's duration changes don't work, but everything else does.
Created for patch 1.22
No DLC requirements
It would be nice if you mentioned me when using it in your mod - when you mentioned DominusSicarum he helped me immensley! - But I won't be angry if you forget it.
The only thing I absolutely can't stand is paying for mods. that's all.
Also, thanks to C …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
