About this mod Machine translation
Profile Manager isn't just for The Witcher 3, it was created to support all single and multiplayer games that don't support multiple user profiles.
This is the first version of my profile manager. So please be aware of this and back up all game play before using this app, just to be sure.
Here's what you need to use it:
- Java 8 or higher, x64 or x86
- Python 3 - This is only required if your operating system is 32-bit
Here's how to use it:
- Run the application as administrator (sadly this is required due to Windows 10 permissions and Python)
- Add a new profile and specify where game saves will be stored. Note that this is not where the game stores game saves. This directory must exist.
- Manage games and add new games, this time pointing the application to the directory containing the game save files.
- Select the profile you want to use and click "Load Profile" then assign a new game to it by clicking "Subscribe" (this may take a while as existing
The file is being moved to the configuration file storage directory)
- Select a subscribed game and load the game/profile combination.
- The app should go into a locked state until you unlock it.
- Now you can start the game
How it works:
- The idea behind this app is very simple. After selecting a profile and then adding a game to it, the application will look for existing game save files
(or any files in a specific directory, in theory you can configure files separately for each profile) and move them to the specified file
The configuration file storage directory then creates a symbolic link. If there is no game save file, the application just creates a symbolic link pointing to
Archive storage directory. This way you won't lose any data.
How to report a problem (be sure to attach the appropriate log file found under bin/logs):
- Engine Exceptions and Recommendations
-CLIENT (not supported because the UI will be rewritten)
hint:
- If you want to use your own version of Python, go to bin/conf/app.json and change pyint to none
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
