About this mod Machine translation

In the ancient days, the world was shrouded in chaos; during the conjunction of the spheres, the first monsters emerged, changing the land forever.

Then wizards are created, in a final, desperate attempt to overcome the threat. Mutant killers, trained from infancy to kill monsters.

They rely on uncanny reflexes and a wide variety of concoctions, secret herbs and legendary alchemical infusions to make them powerful in battle.

This mod is just a humble effort to improve the way these forgotten alchemical arts are depicted in the game.

Introduction:

Primer has undergone a number of changes aimed at adding depth and complexity to the alchemy system to make it more interactive and engaging. My goal was to create a system that was as similar as possible to the first Witcher game, while maintaining harmony with current game elements, speed, and mechanics.

This mod is an evolution of my collaboration with Alchemy Redone. If you liked that mod, you'll probably like this one.

Ingredients and bases:

All ingredients are composed of one of six elemental substances: Aether, Rebis, Quebrith, Vitriol, Hydragenum or Vermilion. these substances

Innate in all matter. Recipes for potions, oils, and bombs can be prepared by combining different ingredients containing these substances.

Recipes no longer require specific ingredients, they require the main substance; you can use any ingredient to cook a recipe as long as the ingredient contains the required main substance. This gives you a lot of flexibility when crafting alchemical items, as you are no longer tied to a specific ingredient but can freely swap without hindrance. Key substances are strategically spread throughout the ingredients, promoting diversity and encouraging exploration. Some substances can only be reliably found in rare, expensive ingredients, while others are ubiquitous. In addition to the primary substances mentioned above, some ingredients contain secondary substances that, when combined, provide additional benefits.

Minor substances, Albedo, Rubedo or Nigredo, can only be found in certain ingredients. These substances do not work on their own and cannot be extracted or distilled. However, while potentially fatal to normal humans, wizards' mutant metabolism allows them to metabolize these substances in large quantities; when all ingredients in the potion contain the same secondary substance, the potion can produce strong side effects:

Albedo Advantage - Reduces the toxicity of all subsequently consumed potions by 20%.

Nigredo Advantage - Damage dealt is increased by 20%.

Rubedo Advantage - Accelerates vitality regeneration.

When practicing alchemy, raw materials can be used directly, or they can be distilled to obtain pure substances. When using pure substances, you will need fewer measures to complete the recipe, up to 50% less, and the required amounts of each specific ingredient will dynamically change to reflect this. Distilling ingredients requires the purest alcohol and two empty bottles.

Blade coatings, alchemical powders, and alcohols are altered in a similar manner to the ingredients. Now each belongs to a category: standard, high or top quality. You can use high quality base instead of high quality or standard quality, but you cannot use standard quality base if the potion requires better quality base. For example, if you're making an oil that calls for dog oil, which is a standard quality blade coating base, and you don't have any dog oil, but you do have bear oil, you could use a high-fat bear oil base instead of beef tallow. It's ridiculous and illogical that it couldn't be done before.

Additionally, when a higher quality base is used when a recipe calls for a lower quality base, the amounts required will change to reflect this.

The ingredients of potions, oils and bombs have all been changed to better balance the game with the new alchemy system. Alcohol and dwarven spirits can no longer be formed in alchemy; White Gull is the only potion base that can be …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
