Precise controller layout for disabling soft lock targeting
describe
This module is just an Antimicro configuration file and a custom input file for Witcher 3, originally based on Karsas90's "Instant Sign Casting for Controller xbox 360 or Gamepad". I came mainly for FoxHoundSWE's amazing Disable SoftLock targeting mode, which allows you to aim and attack at the same time with a gamepad. Of course if you like it you are welcome to use the layout without his mod ;)
Install
1: Download Antimicro (available in portable or installable form. Make sure you get the correct version, either win64 or win32.
2: Unzip input_qwerty.ini to The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt/bin/config/r4game/legacy/base and overwrite it (it is recommended to back up the original text)
3: Deleting Documents/The Witcher 3/input.settings (game) will generate a new one from input_querty.ini on startup. )
4: Extract PrecisionControllerLayout-QWERTY.amgp as long as it is convienent and start it.
5: Play some wizards.
Optional
You can use the following command to disable the control scheme popup and lock the iput to the controller. I personally don't like using my mouse to navigate menus.
- Open the witcher 3\bin\config\base folder
- Open hidden.ini with Notepad and change "LockControlScheme = 0" to "LockControlScheme = 2"
- Save and exit
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
