Install
Before using any mods, back up your save game folder!
Extract the archive to the <._._dir>mods folder (steam path example: D:SteamSteamApps.\The Witcher 3\mods). If MODS folder
If it doesn't exist, create it.
Check that the second <modXXX> folder was not created when extracting the file, it should have the following folder structure: <._._dir>modsmodPotions.content.
This mod requires modifying 2 game configuration files to allow the use of mod hotkeys. You have 3 options to do this (items 1.1, 1.2 or 1.3 in this document, use only one):
1.1. To do this, you may want to use the optional configuration files in the "Files" section of this mod (they are not available in this mod archive).
Make a copy of the original files before replacing them with the provided files.
The first file named input_qwerty.ini is located in <._._dir>binconfigr4..ybase\input_qwerty.ini.
The second file named input.xml is located in <._._dir>binconfigr4.user_config_.\pc\input.xml.
After replacing these two files, go to the "1.4 Set Hotkeys" item to complete the installation.
1.2. Or you can change the required files yourself using Notepad as described below:
Before making any changes, make a copy of the original file.
The first file named input_qwerty.ini is located in <._._dir>binconfigr4..ybase\input_qwerty.ini.
Save this file changes and go to the second file:
The second file named input.xml is located in <._._dir>binconfigr4.user_config_.\pc\input.xml.
Save this file change and complete the installation with "1.4 Setup Hotley".
1.3 Manually set up the mod’s key binding (fail-safe way)
This method won't add new keybinding options to the menu, but the hotkeys will work in-game. So you don't need to do "1.4 setup hotley". This is recommended if you have problems using other mods such as the FriendlyHUD mod.
To manually set up the key bindings for this mod, you should modify the file:
C:Users<YourUserName>DocumentsThe Witcher 3input.settings
1.4 Set hotkeys
After modifying the versions of both configuration files, you can now start the game and an item named "##MOD Toggle Potions Slots" will be added to the Options->Key Bindings menu without key restrictions.
To force the game to save this new keybinding for the first time, you should reset it to default (move your mouse over the new keybinding row and press the R key, the bound key in that row should change to T).
Then you can set it to whatever you want.
- usage
As the mod description says, after installing this mod, you will have a hotkey to swap the potion layout of your equipment. You can use hotkeys in combat or on the Item menu screen. Don't forget to place the potion on the second layout on the item screen before going into battle :)
three. Manual configuration (optional)
You can change the number of equipment potions from 2 to whatever you want.
Use the file PPUserConfig.ws. It is located in the modPotionsPlease folder (<._._dir>modsmodPotions.contentscriptslocal\PPPPUserConfig.ws).
You can edit it using Windows Notepad (other text editors may corrupt the file and may have compilation errors). Internally, you'll find a small amount of code with detailed instructions on the locations and values you might change.
NOTE: The hotkey configuration described in this file does not work!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
