About this mod Machine translation

More realistic and modular reset presets for gaming and screenshots. Suitable for various lighting modules.

This remastered preset was created for photo quality and modularity. It is inspired by many artists, but most notably the classics of Midhras, Zilverborn and Casablanca L, as well as my own Vanilla TW3 work. I believe it's fair to say that none of the authors listed above are afraid of making colors pop. However, because of the conditions required for mesmerizing shots, many of the most beautiful photo remakes are overwhelming for the everyday player experience. Poppy remedies released in your own way.

Whether as a movie or as a photo, the game should look great.

I sketched on top of various iterations of the Phoenix Lighting Mod. Recommended versions include (but are not limited to) V, VII.1, II and 8+. Also works with WLM and other lighting modules such as Atmospheric Lighting Mod (ALM). PLM has changed a lot, and there are big changes with each version. Milos' work inspired me a lot to be able to adapt it in the PLM version: between the dullness of the wizarding world, the stunning sunsets and sunrises, and the various natural environments.

Green is lusher, blues, red vocals, shadows to follow if you will!

In addition to the core pillar of presets that activate at the start, special cinematic effects can be toggled in the hours before sunset or sunrise - meaning smaller fps hits overall. Best of all, it gives you a bigger choice! You can switch from realistic tones to a stylized, richer look as you roam the countryside - just turn off some shaders in favor of others. Check out ReadMes!

Overall hit range is 5-14fps, depending on the number of effects used.

Install

  • Download Reshade 3.4.1 and install it, saying "yes" to the following effects:

ambient light

bloom

boundary

FilmGrain2

FilmicPass

FXAA

SMAA

Gaussian blur

level

LiftGammaGain

Color printing method

Technicolor2

quality map

bright

  • Forward files from download.
  • Install all files in the mod folder into the Witcher3.exe folder, overwriting any recolor shaders when prompted.

(Important: If, IF only, you have a shader named fakeHDR in your shader folder (e.g. when not doing a clean install of Reshade) - delete it. There should be only 1 HDR shader in your shader folder, or you get the super dark reshape.)

  • In-game, open the regroup menu via "Shift + F2".
  • Select the "Poppy" preset and view the keybindings. You can change the keybindings if you wish.
  • Read the Effectbook file - seriously, it helps you squeeze more out of your modifications and explain things!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
