About this mod Machine translation

Reconstruction of eyes, including DLC and replacement of normal maps and shadow masks.

This is a reframing of all eyes in the main game and DLC. This also includes monsters with eyes that can be reconfigured. I also repeated the normal map, which allowed the cubemap to look more like reflections rather than points and blobs, and made the ambient light act on them with a more lens-like effect. I also did some work on the shadow mask so it doesn't look like a reddish band, which looks a bit natural to me. All the irises were redone from scratch, as were the sclera, which were made less red with a vein overhaul. Geralt's eyes now look more feline and have an impression of being illuminated to better match the comments given by NPCs.

This was originally going to be an update to my WHITES mod, but it has evolved further than just sclera and I decided to release it as a separate mod, making it now obsolete. If you still like it I'll stay active, but I won't update it.

Optional files:

I uploaded an optional file that is the same as the main file but with a tooth texture to replace the in-game file. I've enhanced the vanilla textures and processed them a bit and replaced the normal maps. I don't think they're that special to warrant giving them their own thread. You may like them, but if you don't, just use the main version and I won't be offended, to be honest.

If you've reached your texture mode limit or just want to lighten your load. I recommend using Witcher 3 Mod Merger

VERSION HISTORY merge them into one mod:

1.0: Initial version

1.1: Forgot to put the godling texture in 1.0, it's been added now. Separated tooth textures into their own files to reduce different variations of the main mod. Adding TRISS eyes to be blue and no other NPC changes, full credit and kudos to the version hertores explains how it can be done in his comments section.

1.2: Updated and improved v1.1 witcher eyes. Made the wizard's pupils smaller, sclera with more blood shots and irises looking more feline.

compatibility:

Incompatible with any mods that replace these textures or as a fix for incompatible mods that put this one in the load order before these resources can be displayed.

The blue-eyed version of Triss must be loaded before Holgar96's High Quality Faces mod, otherwise they will remain green if you use that mod.

Install

Install with NMM and activate or download and put "modPEEPERS" into your "mods" folder. If you don't have a 'Mods' folder, create one in the main Witcher 3 directory

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
