It didn't make sense to me Geralt, an experienced witcher, started the game not knowing anything about monsters or how to brew any potions. So I started a fresh game (death march difficulty) and used the console to unlock all bestiary entries and alchemy recipes. I only unlocked the recipes not the potions so you will still need to gather ingredients and brew the potions yourself. For me it made the game feel more realistic and not like it was Geralts first day on the job.
To me, it makes no sense that Geralt, an experienced wizard, would start the game without knowing anything about monsters or how to brew any potions. So I started a new game (Death March difficulty) and used the console to unlock all the book collection entries and alchemy recipes. I only open prescriptions, not potions, so you still need to collect the ingredients and brew the potions yourself. To me, it made the game more realistic, not like Geralt's first day on the job.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
