About this mod Machine translation
Replace click sounds when highlighting dialog options and menu buttons with HD silence.
Any text:
I've never understood why CDPR thought it was a good idea to make a clicking sound when hovering over an option during a conversation. Whenever Geralt is about to say something, it causes constant clicking in the background. Perhaps snipping his fingers is Geralt's secret ritual when thinking of a clever one-liner.
Overall, that damn sound is so annoying to me that I went through hell to find a non-scripted solution to this problem.
10 hours and some gray hair later, I successfully silenced that evil noise.
feature:
The sound you hear disappears when you hover over dialog box options and menu buttons.
compatibility:
Compatible with " Quiet ".
Compatible with every scriptmod.
Not compatible with mods that directly replace the gui sound library. However, I don't know of any mods. In the worst case, one of the mods overwrites the other.
technology:
Replace the sound entry "03815c9c in the sound library" and "gui.bnk" with a silent sound effect file.
Methods used: Searching for obscure tutorials, editing .bnk files of Wwise source files without CDPR, downloading a bunch of virus-infected software, and finally using a combined sound editing tool of Wwise, wwise_ima_adpcm, SoundFileEditor, Audacity, Divinity Sound Converter, bnkextr, quickbms, and Witcher 3.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
