No Game Over Death Thump or Load Sound
玩家死亡时不会加强自己被击中时的音效
About this mod Machine translation
When the player dies, the sound effect when he is hit will not be enhanced.
I know, the game over sounds are cool - I agree. I feel like "Death Blow" is a good blow to Geralt's ass since Geralt is also in the hands of his enemies, but when I played with headphones, it was too loud. This very simple mod mutes the sound so it doesn't echo in your skull while you wait for your last save to load.
By request, I also made another model, the silent "Load Punch". You can use one or both of these mods to modify individual scripts.
Install:
Put modnodeAthloadthump or modnodeAththump or modnoloadthump into the \mods directory of the game installation directory.
uninstall:
Delete modnodeAthloadthump or modnodeAththump or modnoloadthump from the \mods directory of the game installation directory.
modnodeAthtHump contains the following files:
/content/scripts/game/gui/menus/deathscreenmenu.ws
modnoloadthump contains the following files:
/content/scripts/game/r4game.ws
If you use another mod that contains these two files, you will need to merge the changes from that mod manually or using a merge tool. I can't vouch for script merging, but I imagine it will work well. However, my changes are simple and it should be easy to merge them manually.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
