About this mod Machine translation
Removed repetitive background dialogue and noise from most NPCs.
I don't usually hear people shouting insults, questions, or empty comments in my ear as I walk around. This sounds like a traumatic experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone, including Geralt.
So the wizarding world is a quieter place now. Most of the repetitive background NPC chat has been removed, except for most guard warnings and battle cries, a very occasional insult or comment that seems to be in nature, and some unobtrusive talk that you can hear in passing in less frequent areas.
Geralt can now roam the landscape and enjoy the music and surrounding noises without being constantly attacked by hackers, snorers, farts, spitters, beggars, threats, jeers, phone calls and gossip.
This mode should not eliminate dialogue from any actual scenes. Its purpose is to disable the repetitive nonsense filler you hear in the background. However, due to CDPR's file structure choices, a less relevant line may be missing here and may be missing from the interaction. It's not a big deal (certainly shouldn't be any necessity), and is easy to fix, so if you happen to encounter any scenes in the game where dialogue seems to be missing (the scene plays, but "skips" lines, as if it's moving quickly), give me an afternoon with your save file and let me know what's going on and I'll fix it.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
