About this mod Machine translation
Start a new game plus skills/mutations, but without all the gold/items/formulas/charts.
This mod removes almost all gold/items, diagrams, and alchemy formulas that carry over into New Game+, so you can focus on getting those last skills/mutations, but still have the fun of discovering formulas/crafting gear, and generally getting to the boss again.
This makes the game more difficult in the beginning, while also adding fun to Ng+ (something I was personally missing). For example, when I was looking for herbalist stuff in White Orchard, it skipped that step because I already had the potion and it didn't even tell me. Besides, killing for mutagens is pointless. Besides, I have so much stuff that I don't need to rob anything. And, all was a slog with my Forsaken Sword and my lightly armored Bear Adrenaline build... Now, the ghouls in the opening scene forced me to relearn how to play the game (death march) without having to hold down the left mouse button and auto-kill everything within 10 yards.
Finally, you won't feel like a level 5 hoarder with useless junk everywhere.
I decided to do this for myself as I climbed all the way to where the crows were perching before I realized I should throw everything out, but I still had all the formulas/charts and it was a daunting task to throw everything out.
So what does this mod bring into ng+?
Skills and mutations and funky glasses. Plus, a few things are added whether you own them or not: all dye recipes and 40 dye solutions, all mutagen transformation recipes and 20 transformation herbs.
The usual stuff you started the game with is still there (Kaer Morhen armor, wizard's steel and silver sword, saddle, recipe for the depression, grapefruit, sam, necrotic oil, ghost oil, cat, swallow, white honey, warrior's jacket diagram, 250 gold, water and bread, level 1 tawny owl, a flashlight, and for some reason the apology letter is Sti. I listed it in the book... I think it's just a weird CDPR oversight like not labeling it properly).
It is still necessary to bring some items/formulas with you because they are either crucial to continuing the quest for maximum variation, or you get them so late in the game that there isn't much time to enjoy them (only add these items/formulas if you have the DLC, otherwise the game will skip them). Remember, even if you missed some of the formulas, I'll include them all, but if you don't have glasses, you're now a Sol.
NOTE: I had to delete everything and manually add what I started with... the wizard's steel sword was hard to add in, I've got it auto-leveled, but it's probably a level or two higher than usual (still a few levels below you).
Note 2: Initially, you will need to manually move the saddle to your horse. For some reason I can't get it to convert via script, even though I'm using the method the developers used - I think it's a timing issue since the horse doesn't exist in the dream scene, but idunno. Technically, you're camping the whole time, and your horse shouldn't be saddled anyway, so...that's a feature!
Skills and mutations
These are all left over. Add interstitial agent under normal circumstances. Note that if you reset the mutations at some point (with other potions that you didn't start with), you probably won't be able to reset the mutations until the blood and wine vendors sell the potions, but I don't know of anyone who sells them) and you'll be kicking yourself because you won't have the larger mutagens to get them until later in the game. I have tried to mitigate this by adding mutagen to the conversion formula. In any case, you want to make sure that your genetic mutations maximize your needs, because you'll be stuck with them in the first place.
Dye recipes and 40 dye solutions
So you can dye all your armor pink. This will make 10 sets of dyed armor, so hopefully your royal pink will last before you find a blood and wine dye supplier.
I'd like to add a little more, but these are valuable, so I'll give you a bunch of gol …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
