About this mod Machine translation
A box of toys for in-game photography.
I wanted something that would allow me to keep the colors vibrant at all times while still allowing me to make the game grim and dark wherever I want. It's a stylized take on this universe and serves as a set of switchable tools that work in different lighting conditions.
It's not a strike preset. If your goal is to take screenshots, this requires a lot of micromanagement. If that's not your cuppa, technicolours and tonemap will do the heavy lifting for you.
Initially, the preset is for vanilla lighting. It is also the perfect complement to KNG ULM. If you play vanilla, I would recommend the Real Weather module, which helps emphasize foggy grimdark etc.
I mainly use the latest version.
(Here's a bonus tip: If you want the colors to 'fill in' more, then increase the gamma intensity of the tone map by around 0.550; that changes a lot with minimal effort.)
Install
- Download 3.4.1 Reshade Framework and install it.
- Place your preferred version ini file into the Witcher 3 exe folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\x64
- Drag and drop MartyMcFly's (ported by Insomnia) Cross Processing shader into the reshade shader's Shaders folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Witcher 3\bin\x64\reshade-shaders\Shaders
- If it's the Grim version, put the lightroom, cross-process and HDR shaders into the Shaders folder (remove the fake HDR, comes with Reshade 3.4)
- Enter the repartition menu (Shift+F2) in-game and load the "unnamed" file. Also check and change the key in the repartition menu.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
