About this mod Machine translation
Modified user.ini for users playing Witcher 3 on integrated video/APU based laptops.
This is the final version of the modified .ini file for Witcher 3.
The resolution is set to 1152x648 for optimal performance while not looking completely terrible. The resolution is in a 16:9 ratio, so change it to fit the monitor's aspect ratio.
(Any changes to settings while ingame will reset the .ini file, so I recommend you change that .ini file before copying it to your system.)
This file should be placed in my Documents/Wizards directory. The default user.ini file should exist. Back up the old one and replace it with this one. Just remember to set the file to read-only every time you adjust it.
If using AMD, go into the Catalyst Control Center and use the rewrite application settings for tessellation from AMD Optimization to a maximum tessellation of 2x-6x. (Adjust this to what works best for you) Nvidia should have a similar setting.
My system specs: HP Envy m6-k010dx 15.6" Sleekbook AMD A-1057452.1ghz (2.9 Turbo core), 8GDDR31866SDRAM, AMD Radeon discrete class 8610G768mb (up to 3g video), 1TB 7200 RPM Toshiba HD, Win 8.1.
I highly recommend using this tool (Hunter's Config) to adjust your settings if you don't wish to follow the instructions above
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
