About this mod Machine translation

A loot list to set them all up and down.

A loot list to rule them all and the poor.

Most item categories are no longer randomized within public containers, only trash and misc category items are randomized. Monsters aren't piñatas filled with valuables, earning you a dozen coins for every swing of your sword.

Items originally placed manually remain unchanged.

There are no longer diamonds in random peasant huts.

The game uses two different types of loot lists, used by containers and enemies: fixed-result loot lists (you always get the same result - handmade loot) and random-result loot lists (used by most generic containers - the same peasant container can contain diamonds or goatskins, depending on random luck/reloading). This mod only changes the randomized result loot list, leaving non-randomized loot unchanged (so you can still follow the guide/wiki on where to find specific items that are always in the same location).

Trying to provide a smarter and more important poor loot distribution by making most item categories no longer appear as random loot, reducing the amount of loot dropped by mobs, and reducing the amount of crafting food per container.

Does not affect herb-shaped containers, as it is not random what herbs you can loot from a given herb-shaped container.

Enemies will also drop their equipped weapons as loot because those were not picked from the random loot list (but you can get rid of common weapon drops by using spam-free weapon drops).

Food is kept in food-shaped containers, but the quantity is reduced to 1 per loot list/container.

Geralt might actually have to fight for a living, bargain, buy food, or hunt for it instead of rejecting nilfgaardian coins so easily.

Includes Handplaced Rare Items and No Junk Food

Changes to reduce container loot:

Removed weapons, armor, recipes, schematics, upgrades (runes/glyphs), repair kits, non-monster alchemy ingredients, non-monster crafting ingredients, food, herbs from normal containers and random result loot lists used by npc enemies. Only trash category and miscellaneous category (gold) items will constitute random/junk loot in the container.

Reduced creature loot:

Monsters no longer drop raw meat. Non-hostile animals (deer, rabbits, pigs, etc.) are still present.

Monsters and monster nests no longer drop non-weird crafting ingredients, non-weird alchemical ingredients and upgrades (runes/glyphs).

Monsters and animals will not drop more than 1 piece of each item (if the bear previously dropped 1 bear fat and 3 claws, he now drops 1 bear fat and 1 claw). This means that you should no longer be able to easily accumulate large amounts of valuable monster loot that you really don't need.

Normal packaging monsters (nekkers, wolves, dogs, ghouls, sirens, etc.) and non-hostile animals can only drop a maximum of 1 item per monster. Doesn't affect their stronger varieties, which means you should still be able to obtain the rare monster ingredients needed for alchemy/crafting earlier.

Normal package monsters are 5.4 times less likely to drop loot. Not affecting their stronger varieties. This number comes from the highest sales price mark used in the store (see Cheaper Lore Friendlier Shop Prices). Also means that if you're looking to pack monster ingredients, you'd better look for their alpha versions and nests.

Loot entries removed from monster loot lists are actually replaced with entries from the NoShow/NoDrop item set, which have the same priority as the entries they replaced, so that the vanilla relative drop rates of the remaining items are preserved (eg: Drowned). Dropping a Drowned Brain is still 10 times more likely than a Monstrous Hair.

Install:

Place the contents of the mod/DLC and /Mods folders in the corresponding folders. If you have other modules, run script merge to merge the files. This means merging bundled files.

uninstall:

If you merged the files before, cancel the merge. Delete the unzipped folder.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
