About this mod Machine translation
This profile desaturates colors to make the game feel grittier rather than its default bright and saturated style, while adjusting contrast to give it a more modern, cinematic look.
Basically, this preset stretches out the gamma curve by adjusting the black and white points, adding more dynamic range in the brightness values, and then adjusting the lights and darks so that they have almost no clipping.
It also desaturates colors. I feel like the world of The Witcher is oversaturated with its grim overtones. However, red is more saturated than other colors. This also adds a hint of blue to the midtones and shadows.
In the game, Gamma is set to max (1.9 in the user.config file) Bloom is on and Sharpening is off. If you are experimenting and want to handle framerate hits, you can try a vignette. The screenshot also has a tweaked user.config ini.

Install:
- Download the compressed package
- Unzip the file
- Copy the files to the game directory folder
- Run the game
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
