About this mod Machine translation
This allows you to switch symbols in the controller by using the up, down, left, right assignment on the D-pad.
These new controller layouts will work with any controller compatible with the GOG or Steam version of The Witcher 3.
No anti-glycemic program is required. Just follow the installation procedure.
There are 3 versions available:
Elite, Modified and Pure Vanilla
Elite / Modified controller layouts are:
RB as light attack
RT as heavy attack
X as cast mark
Y as menu
Elite has LB as Axii/call horse and left joystick to throw bombs/fire crossbow etc
Modified to have LB as throwing bombs/fire crossbow etc and left joystick as Axii/Call horse
Pure vanilla is just a vanilla controller with flag toggles.
All versions include this layout for switching in and out of combat:
D-Pad Up - Aard
D-Pad Down - Yrden
D-Pad Left - Quen
d-pad right- Igni
(LB) or Left Joystick - Axii
Controller descriptions are on the screen as well as the download included as well.
This allows you to switch flags at any time. In addition to Axii, there are still cutscenes, etc., not horses...
Hold the swords in your left or right hand, then hold them again and then let go to put them on.
Lifting and then letting go will cause you to take a potion or food.
below
You can use a potion by holding it down, however, you cannot switch to a different potion using this layout.
Still, switching signs mid-battle can be a bit inconvenient, but it's worth it.
Install
- Download the file manually.
- Extract the files using 7zip or Winrar (Winrar is at least 100 times better).
- Get the input.settings file and put it into
C:\Users\[your username]\Documents\The Witcher 3.
- Let it overwrite other input.settings files or delete your current input.setting file and replace it.
- Load the game. YAYY!
uninstall
- Simply go to C:\Users\[your username]\Documents\The Witcher 3.
(or wherever you saved your Witcher 3 settings) and delete the input.settings file.
That's it!
Once you load the game again it will automatically generate your vanilla input.settings,
You'll be back to those horrible, non-customizable layouts that CDPR likes to give you.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
