Hotkeys To Toggle NPC Chatter Voices Music Subtitles On Off

About this mod Machine translation
Why this mod is so important
-------------------------------------------- -
The Witcher 3 has a great musical score that you can listen to for hours. The NPC-Chatter really adds to the atmosphere and is even fun at times. But after 150 hours into the game, it's getting a little old. So I wrote a little mod that lets you turn sound, music and subtitles on and off with hotkeys. No more "angry out of my pants", "...die from poverty", "crawl back under your rocks!" around every corner :-). When I need to talk to someone important, I just turn it on without delving into the menu.
Install
-----------------
I wholeheartedly recommend W3 Mod Manager because it automatically installs mods, including menu items and hotkeys. If other mods are installed, run the script merge after installation. Regarding the mod manager: Since NMM only copies mods to the mod folder, but cannot add menu items or hotkeys, if you insist on using NMM, you will have to install them manually :-). Start from that situation 2.
Manual installation
-----------------------------
- Copy the mods folder to...\(your Witcher3 directory)\mods
- Add the lines from input.settings.part.txt to ...\Documents\The Witcher 3\Input.settings under the correct heading.
- Add the lines from input.xml.part.txt to the <\ - above the [BASE_CharacterMovement] line... \(your Witcher3 directory)\bin\config\r4game\user_config_matrix\pc\input.xml ->
- If other mods are installed, you need to copy the 3 lines in playerWitcher.ws to the corresponding files in \mod0000_MergedFiles. Open it with your favorite text editor and look for the line containing modToggleSubsnAudio. Or you can use script merge :-)
You can change the hotkeys in Options\Key Bindings to anything you like. The default keys are F6, F7, F8. If you want subtitles for NPC-Chatter, you must first activate them under Options\Video\Hud Configuration\.
limit
-----------------
Hotkeys don't work in menus or when playing as Ciri.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
