Replacement of equipment models for gryphon, cat and wolf sets
What it does:
This is a visual replacement that does not change any statistics. All wizard items can be dyed normally unless replaced with non-wizard gear. See pictures for appearance and easier to understand information.
V4.1
All Griffin Armor Tier 1-5 (NG&NG+) parts have been replaced with:
-1 layer wolf torso
-Manico boots
-Layer 3 Wolfskin Gloves
-Layer 3 wolfskin pants
Assassin's Gloves (Handcrafted) were replaced by the third tier of wolves.
Tracker sheath (handcrafted) replaced with first layer feline. Additionally, this item now has the same properties as the Assassin's Bracers.
V5.1
It is the same as V4.1, plus:
All Feline Armor Tier 1-5 (NG&NG+) parts replaced with:
-Cat Torso Layer 2
-First layer of cat leather boots
-First layer, cat bracelet
-First layer of cat pants
V1.1
It is the same as V5.1, plus:
Layers 1-5 of the wolf's torso are replaced by Crescent Armor (I recommend the modified appearance, see mod below).
The armor of Sydal and Ofili was replaced by Geralt's white shirt.
V7.1
It's the same as V6.1, plus:
Cat torso layers 1-5 are replaced by Geralt's white shirt.
Ofili's armor returns to normal.
Each version has a replacement version, V4.1a, V5.1a, etc. In these versions, Griffin Torso layers 1-5 were replaced by Moon Armor, and Wolf Torso T.1-5 were replaced by Wolf Torso T.2.
V7.1a is what I use btw.
Why I do this:
There is no mention in the books of Geralt using plate or chain mail or anything heavier than leather. In the Sword of Destiny short story "The Eternal Flame," he buys a leather jacket.
(My opinion is:)
Wizards are built to fight monsters that are faster, bigger, stronger than normal humans, and probably outnumber them. The wizard just can't allow himself to be hit, it will wobble, making him an easier target, he may lose his balance and fall in the group, and that's the end of him, despite any armor. Single behemoths like Cyclops, Juggler, Golem, Demon 1 can break some bones or be knocked down from these attacks. Even if the armor saves life, the wizard loses valuable recovery time that can be used by the monster to strike again, and ultimately kill. There are many monsters that can teleport, become invisible, or attack from underground, which is why the wizard must be as fast as possible. Medium or heavy armor is specifically designed for close combat between humans and is not suitable for killing monsters. For a wizard, escaping and attacking is like running on a knife's edge, with no room for error. Finally, wizards basically live on the road, and even riding a horse is troublesome with the weight of heavy armor on their backs. Look at Eskel or Lambert, they really look like wizards.
I don't think there are some super light and indestructible materials in the Witcher universe like LOTR's Mitriel, but Nettle heavy armor or medium armor won't slow you down at all...
So I swapped out wizard gear from three schools to represent my vision of what would be appropriate for a wizard. To make Geralt look more friendly without sacrificing combat attributes. Makes him look good at the same time.
Changle:
- Added replacement Verison for each replacement
-Blinks when wearing Feline Pants and secured with Shiadhal or O.i Armor
- Fixed short emo hair when wearing tier 5 feline armor
Install:
Install the excerpt into "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt/Mode". Example: "Mods/mod6aGriffinToWolvenV5-1".
Only use one version. If you are unsure, run the script merge.
Requires B&W, HoS, Wolven Witcher Gear DLC.
Made as 1.22, should work on 1.30 or 1.31, needs testing.
To achieve this I used the file from the mod: "Griffin (all versions) replaced by standard Manticore (unchained mail)."

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
