Fix Camera Auto Center with x360ce, HairWorks, Witcher Sense, Frame Time, SweetFX and FPS Gain. FTW on GTW760

Here is the solution to my Camera Auto Center issue and what I have on patch 1.05

Complete setup of TW3. The "Camera Auto Center" portion of this "mod" is designed to be used with a controller via x360ce. This also includes my custom button mapping so you can do almost everything in the game without taking your thumbs off the camera stick. If you don't want custom button mappings, reset them to default.

The rest of the stuff here is aimed at those with a similar setup who are looking for maximum framerate while using "hair accessories on everything but Geralt", or not... and still have a great demo.

I thought I'd share how I get the most out of the game by spending the last 3 weeks, not playing the game but doing nothing but "getting to places", and coming up with this setup.

FYI, TW3,1600x900 is not bad either, IMO. (I can’t believe I’m saying that too). I'm generally a 1080p+ (in Dolphin), AA-ass, graphics whore and absolute HATE alias and "ladder". However, what I hate more is a game that runs slower than 60fps. The original Mario on the NES ran at 60fps, and I'll still do that 30 years later.

With my SweetFX settings, the game looks better than 1080 without it. for me. so far. The first photo here still looks like real time.

To me it looks like 1080 with DOF, hiding some of the more obvious texture resolution "differences" and giving a ton of FPS. And, by setting your monitor's resolution to 1600x900 and then running the game in "borderless window" mode, you can get about 3-4 free FPS.

The main idea here is to stop the camera from automatically centering by adding an anti-dead zone so that the camera never stops moving.

Increase the value until the camera is always moving left or right very, very slowly. Stopping the camera should feel like trying to balance an egg on its end so it moves left or right 99% of the time, or so if you have your stick in the perfect spot. You can fine-tune the anti-dead zone using the numbers I highlighted in the picture to make the camera move as slow as you

You can also do this for the Y axis so that the camera stops "auto-leveling"!

It's a nice effect, this smooth and slow panning, that enhances your ability to view your surroundings while giving a feeling of greater depth and awareness!

You may want a controller with little to no mechanical dead zone. I have been using a Logitech Dual Action for 10 years.

************** If what you want is camera auto center repair then just use x360ce_x64.exe, x360ce.ini and xinput1_3.dll files.

If the main file doesn't work, there is a backup of xinput1_3.dll in the TW3 backup folder. ***************

Use only the files you want/need, or use them all. Just copy/paste them into the directory indicated by their folder name.

Start by backing up versions of these files!

Work with entire files, or view changes they may require.

Remember to set the user to read-only!

I've included screenshots of all my PC and GFX setup showing how I run the game. If you have a similar setup, a GTX760 or similar, then I would say I just match all my settings. To get the most out of this game, I've done OCD and tried to get as close to 60fps as possible with NV Hair Works at 1600x900.

I set the screen resolution to 1600x900 before starting the game and ran it in borderless window mode using RivaTunerSS. This smoothes out frame times and can result in a 3-4 FPS gain with the full screen display set to 1920x1080. It also reduces artifacts caused by using a different/lower resolution than the native screen resolution on your LCD monitor.

SweetFX settings are included for a long time, and using these settings makes the game look great and only costs about 1 FPS!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
