About this mod Machine translation
This mod adds a "FOV Slider" to the Options menu.
The Field of View (FOV) Slider mod allows you to change your footing ("exploration") and horseback riding field of view settings using a slider.
The slider is located in Main Menu -> Options -> Modify -> FOVSlider.
(Note: For witcher versions prior to 1.21, the Slider fix path may be different)
The FOV may not be appropriate when you first install the mod, so I recommend setting the FOV settings as soon as the game loads into the main menu. Also, make sure you have the module installed correctly so that you see the menu "FOVSlider".
I personally find 70 exploration FOV and 80 horseback FOV to be the best 1080p for me.
The game default value for exploration FOV is 60, and the game default value for horse riding FOV is 60.
NOTE: I do not recommend exploring beyond 90 FOV - high FOV values will slow down game performance and cause visual glitches.

In addition to installing the mod as usual, there are two additional steps:
- You will need to copy the bin folder and paste it into your base Witcher 3's game path. If you are asked to write a localization .ini, press "Yes".
The base directory for The Witcher 3 for Steam users is as follows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\
- You also need to download and install this mod: Custom Localization Fixes
- When you first launch the game with the installed mod, you will need to set the FOV in the Options menu immediately. It defaults to 0, so you need to use the slider to adjust it. The vanilla game defaults to 60 expedition FOV and 60 horseback FOV.
Uninstall the program:
Set the Exploration FOV to 60 and the Horseback FOV to 60. These are the default vanilla games. In addition to deleting the mods in the /mods/ folder, also delete the fovslider.xml file located in the folder (for steam users):
C:\ Program Files(x86)\ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ Witcher 3 \ bin \ config \ r4game \ user_config_matrix \ pc
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
