A small fix for you still using ESGO's boxing mini-game
premise
I'm not a modder. I've just spent the last week trying to solve 2 problems with a mod that I really like; "ESGO". The author no longer supports the mod as he was using The Enhanced Edition Mod, but luckily someone updated it. Unfortunately he did not reply to my comment. No one answered my request on the forum, so I decided to do it myself.
Problems
The first problem with ESGO is that Geralt does too much damage with his fists.
The second problem is that the beast is too powerful. I can manage bears, but wolves and wild dogs are stronger than any other enemies in the main game. I get killed every time I encounter it.
The problem the mod is trying to solve
After reading and reading, trying and trying and absolutely no help, I managed to understand how modding works and I've made my first adjustment. Each opponent should now have more health in the boxing mini-game. Additionally, they should have done less to lose than they did, making it more realistic. Has anyone seen a boxing match? They don't end after 4 or 5 clicks.
While I was there, I also changed Yennefer's damage, but it was a very minor adjustment. In the .xml file she is "0.8" and I set it to "1".
In the optional files, I changed Keira damage to be the same as Yennefer, and Vesemir is now "1.8" instead of "0.8". No other allies found in the original file.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
