EnvHelper
This mod aims to solve one of the biggest annoyances of env modddin. It is intended for use with rmemr's envui.
Anyone who has used envui to edit envs is familiar with the fact that you can only edit the base environment of each zone.
Example of how the env layering system works:
Envs in higher layers overlap with envs in lower layers.
For example, velen (layer 2) overlaps novigrad (layer 0), which means you don't
Be able to see novigrads env when velen is loaded.
Level 4: Weather in the Swamp.
Tier 3: Weather in Velen or Swamp.
Tier 2: Additional environments such as weather (in most areas), Velen and caves/interiors.
Layer 1: Cutscene definition.
Level 0: Basic environment.
Normally you can only edit layer 0 (base environment) using envui.
This mod solves this problem.
Order:
envlayer_name() - Load env by name in a specific layer.
envbase_name() - Loads a specific env as the base for envui editing.
env_base() - Sets the loaded env to base.
env_list() – Displays the envs loaded in a specific layer.
env_restore() - Restores the base env to the original state of the current region.
usage:
envlayer_name() - envlayer_name(env_skellige_brown.env, 3). Load Skellige base env on layer 3.
envbase_name() - envbase_name(env_skellige_brown.env). Loads the Skellige base env as the new base for the current region.
env_base() - env_base(2). Set the env in the second layer as base.
env_list() - env_list(2). Display the env loaded in layer 2.
env_restore() - env_restore. Restore the basic environment.
DLC weather:
Because of how this mod works, you'll need to manually add the DLC weather to the list before starting the game so the script can find it, but it's very quick and easy.
Find the script named EnvHelper.ws located in Mods\modEnvHelper\content\scripts\mod.
Open it with your favorite text editor (I use Sublime Text 3).
Scroll down until you find function GetAllEnvPaths(): array<string>
Scroll down to the end of the function and write paths.PushBack("");
Within quotes you write the path to your dlc weather environment (the same path as in the weather table).
For example: paths.PushBack("dlc\mod\data\fog.env");
You can also do this if you find a missing vanilla environment.
That’s all. You can now load the DLC Weather.
Some background information:
r0x (the author of STWLM) showed me a while ago that you can edit envui's definitions in the swamp env w2w file by changing the environment. So my natural thought was "Why not do this through scripts and the entire game?". After asking around a bit, KNG pointed me to his Super Bloom mod, which edits some environment parameters in a w2w file through a script, thus starting the development and development of this mod for a month and a half until I got it today.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
