About this mod Machine translation
SweetFX/ReShade features 6 different presets that vary based on location, you no longer have to find compromises, just create presets for specific locations. For patches 1.22 and 1.24 and 1.30. (can be easily modified for other versions)
Currently supported locations:
- White Orchard
- Velen/Novigrad/Oxenfurt
- Kyle Morn
- Skellige
- Toussaint
- Castle of Vizima
renew:
- Updated Mod for GOTY patch 1.30.
Update 1.3:
- Fixed bug reloading presets after hiding HUD etc.
- Removed the reload key related to the stated bug.
- Reduce script changes. Now it's only 5 lines in one file - easier to merge with other mods.
Even if you are updating, see below for installation.
Install
- If you are using an old version, delete the old scripts (mods/modSFXPresets folder in the game folder)
- Install the utility:
- Download and install ReShade or SweetFX.
- Unzip the downloaded archive.
- Place the "bin" and "mods" folders in the game folder.
- Run vcredist.bat to install the vc redist package.
- Make sure there are no conflicts with mods.
This utility uses scripts - if you use any mods, please use script merge. If you have problems with script merging, see merging.txt.
- Run the game and load any save. Then close it.
(For first time installation, skip this step if you want to update) 5. (Available only to preset creators) To configure a preset: 1. Download DefaultLocationPresets. 2. Unzip it and place the LocationPresets folder in "<game folder>\bin\x64\".
- Open each preset and configure it the way you like, by default they are "Clear" - every effect is disabled.
how to use it
1.
Launch DifferentSFXPresets.exe from <game folder>\bin\x64\ (for convenience, I recommend creating a shortcut on the desktop, as you will need to launch it every time before starting a game, or after starting a game, but before loading a save/starting a new game)
On startup, DifferentSFXPresets.exe detects if you are using ReShade or SweetFX, loads SweetFX_default.txt/default from ReShade as the current preset, then when saving a load/position change it loads one of the 6 position presets, if your position is not supported (yet) it will load SweetFX_default.txt/default from ReShade again.
- Start the game.
Frequently asked questions and solutions:
- If the game has an error when compiling the script, such as "Function 'AddSessionTag' not found" - put this file in
In the game folder /content/content0/scripts/engine
- Make sure you have 1.22, 1.24 or 1.30 game version and you are using the correct version of the mod (there is one for 1.22/1.24 and an updated one for 1.30) as the script is based on it. If you want to use another game version, please see merging.txt
Then make sure you use Script Merger if you use other mods.
- Check out the bugs section for resolved issues.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
