About this mod Machine translation

Added ability to craft high quality recipes from low quality alchemical bases and vice versa.

However, I find that the alchemy replenishment system still has some problems and can be improved in the following areas:

  • If a recipe requires a low quality alchemy base and you only have the higher quality version, you are not allowed to use them for that recipe (unlike tw1).
  • If you use the "corresponding base" option of a formulation to replenish individual potions/bombs/oils, you will also significantly increase its replenishment cost every time you manage to upgrade the recipe. If you're currently having a hard time finding the higher-quality foundations you need to replenish your upgraded alchemical items, you may feel like you're being upgraded. (No longer a simple alchemical supplement question)
  • As you upgrade your recipes and the corresponding Alchemy Base replenishment requirements also increase, all low quality Alchemy Base items become useless. You'll still come across these low quality alchemy base items that are now worthless.

Simple solution: Convert multiple low-quality alchemical base ingredients into one medium-quality alchemical base ingredient, and transform multiple medium-quality alchemical base ingredients into one high-quality alchemical base ingredient. Each alchemical base can also be transformed into its lower level version.

By converting a high quality alchemical base into a low quality base you solve 1).

By being able to distill a rarer high-quality alchemical base from a range of more common low-quality variants, you solve 3) and significantly improve 2).

New Recipe (please see pictures for more information):

Potion:

3 dwarf elves -> 1 farthest. 3 furthest -> 1 white gull.

1 white gull -> 1 farthest. 1 Farthest One -> 1 Dwarf Elf.

bomb:

3 Saltpeter -> 1 Stanford Dust. 3 Stammelfords dust -> 1 alchemical powder.

1 hemisphere powder -> 1 Stammelfords dust. 1 Stanford Dust -> 1 Solpit.

Oil:

3 dog fat -> 1 bear fat. 3 Bear Fat -> 1 Alchemical Paste.

1 alchemical paste -> 1 bear fat. 1 bear fat -> 1 dog fat.

The script automatically adds the recipe to geralt.

The script probably requires both extensions, although I don't have a way to test it. You can remove the script and manually add recipes with console commands, which follow the game's naming standards ("Dog Fat Recipe", "Bear Fat Recipe 1", etc.).

Optional files for more expensive alcoast are switched around the price of enhanced alcohol-based alcoast (10) and inferior/basic alcohol-based dwarven spirit (20) so that players who need dwarven spirit don't have to constantly buy alcoast and convert it to dwarven spirit to save money while also keeping costs as low as possible. Potion refill costs remain unchanged and are still the same as stated in the dialogue "12 Crowns". That’s barely enough to cover the ingredients in my potion”.

Installation instructions:

Place the contents of the mod's /dlc and /mod s folders into the corresponding folders. Run the merge script to merge conflicting files if any (including bundled XML files) if using other mods.

uninstall:

If you have merged mod files before, unmerge them. Remove extracted mods.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
