About this mod Machine translation

Witcher 1 style main menu replacement.

The purpose of this mod is to make Witcher 3's main menu more like Witcher 1's menu, with new W1 inspired background videos, UI style and original theme playback.

Requirements and information:

You will need to have the DLC installed for the standalone game (such as Steam GOTY) or the GOG GOTY version (both patched to 1.31 or 1.32) for this mode to work properly.

The standalone/Steam version only replaces the Blood & Wine menu, as these versions of the game do not cycle through the menu on every launch. The GOG GOTY version has a larger file size because it replaces each of the three menus, so only the classic menu will be displayed when the game launches.

You can also choose between two versions of the menu for each game type, one with a redesigned UI that looks more like the original Witcher 1 menu, and the other retaining the vanilla W3 UI style.

Install:

Choose a file based on your settings and preferences (Steam/GOG - Full/VidOnly) and copy the modClassicMenuVERSION folder to the Witcher 3 mod directory, e.g.

“\ Steam \ steamapps \ common \ The Witcher 3 \ mods”

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
