Make Kaer Morhen's interiors more interesting!
Tired of Karl Mohun's surprisingly repetitive mural decorations? Want to change up the art style but still be in some way true to the era, aesthetic, and weird nature of Kyle Mulhern? Then this model is for you!
This mod changes the internal structure of Kaer Morhen, allowing for the use of 3 additional murals for 100% increased variety, while adding new custom and highly detailed normal maps to each mosaic! (Even a little Easter egg thrown in!)
Installation instructions:
Extract the kminteriorbyzantine archive file into the "mods" folder. If the game isn't loading in GoR for whatever reason, you've hit the "infamous mod limit", so use mod merge to combine some of your mods!
Framework description:
- Unpack kminterioframework to a location of your choice, but preferably as simple and small as possible.
- Go into the "moded" folder, all the way to the "textures" folder.
- Inside you will find the 12.tga file, each wall painting containing diffuse and normal textures divided into 6 pairs.
- Look carefully at the "Mosaic Index" image to understand the direction of the mural.
- Replace these files with any other files of your choice (keeping the same names, dimensions and attributes) and package them as a mod using W3Oven.
- Try it in the game!
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
