About this mod Machine translation
Displays all objectives of active missions for all players on the map. See screenshot for details. See the wmkMapMenu.ws file for some settings.
This module does not show the location of quests that the player does not have in their diary.
How to install
Install it just like any other Witcher 3. Compatible with Mod Manager. Use script merge to detect and resolve conflicts with other installed mods.
See fixes for some generic merchants in the download page: sometimes it was impossible to view their inventory and they didn't have a pin on the map, even if the player was close. Additionally, the wrong model may be used in conversational scenarios. This is a must if you are using the full version of all Quest objectives on the Map mod, otherwise it will not save the map pins for the bugged merchants. For more details, see the README.txt file included in the archive.
If the script fails to compile with the error AddSessionTag, LogWithName, LogWithValue, LogWithLabel, LogWithLabelAndValue, etc. functions, then you have an old telemetry Keyword.ws script file. Or you don't have the file. See the Miscellaneous section in the download page for fixes.
stone tablet
Shows the location of all player active (unfinished, not failed) tasks.
I don't recommend this version, instead the standard version should be used. It is only installed if you use the MOD to change the Panel_worldmap.redswf file, but rarely at the moment. See the compatibility section below for more details.
This version does not support custom icons for task pins, instead using a white exclamation mark as the icon!
Just add a few new lines in the mapMenu.ws file. If there is a conflict with another mod, it is easily merged.
Standard version
Supports custom icons for task pins. Click the mission pin to change the currently tracked mission (or objective) directly from the map. Compatible with pin filtering mechanism (pins can be hidden, they appear in task categories, etc.).
Added more changes to the mapMenu.ws file than the Lite version, and changed the Panel_worldmap.redswf file.
full version
By default, some merchants can only be seen on the map when the player is close to them. This version saves their positions and adds missing icons when opening the map. Only available for merchants discovered after installing the module. You can click on a cached/saved pin to delete it. The list of discovered merchants is not lost when the game is restarted. By default, roaming merchants will be ignored and their locations will not be saved, but this is configurable.
Please note that the solution is not perfect and in some cases the mod may add a pin to a merchant that already has one. This usually happens when businessmen are involved in a mission, such as Keira Metz or Peller, when they change their location. There is no way to fix this, but it rarely happens and you can remove duplicate pins without issue.
Changed files rarely exceed the Lite and Standard versions. Also change the Panel_worldmap.redswf file.
compatibility
The standard and full versions are incompatible with any other changes to the panel_worldmap.redswf file, since merging is not possible. The only exceptions are mods that provide compatible versions, such as Colored Map Markers Author statement: DJ_Kovrik; please read their descriptions for more details.
INCOMPATIBLE MODS: Currently I am not aware of other mods that will alter the same SWF file.
(If you know of a pattern like this, please send me a private message so I'll add it here)
Color map markers
The Lite version is fully compatible with the main file. Colored map markers. Author's statement: DJ_Kovrik;
For standard and full versions, you must install the compatible files from the colored map markers instead of the main file. If you manually set mod priority using the mod.set file, make sure colored Map markers have higher priority (which they are by default). If you use script merging and want to have a clean conflict panel, you can rem …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
