About this mod Machine translation
Subnautica autosave
Subnautica's autosave system, based on time intervals and (configurable) individual save slots.
Suboutica is automatically saved by Dingo
renew:
- Improved save slot rotation method
- Added screenshot copy routine
- Fixed compatibility with Map mod and possibly other mods
describe:
Automatic saving system can save time intervals. By default, the autosave slot is separate from normal saves, but can be configured otherwise.
You can define multiple custom parameters in the settings file (see the "Configuration" section).
Install:
1) If you haven’t installed QMods yet
- Download the zip file from the Files tab
- Extract the contents of the zip to the game's home directory (where Subnautica.exe can be found)
(Optional) Configuration:
- Navigate to the mod's directory (Subnautica\QMods\SubnauticaAutosave).
- Edit settings.json using notepad or your favorite text editor.
- Define custom values according to your preference. The available settings are -
"SecondsBetweenAutosaves": 900 - The time in seconds between autosave attempts. Must be at least 120.
"MaxSaveFiles": 3 - Maximum number of autosave slots. Must be at least 1.
"MinimumPlayerHealthPercent": 25 - If player health falls below this percentage, no save will be made. Change to 0 to disable this option.
"HardcoreMode": false - If true, autosave will overwrite the normal save slot instead of using a separate slot.
(optional) translation:
If you would like to provide translations for this mod, please follow these steps:
- View the file "English.json" in QMods\SubnauticaAutosave\Languages 2) Copy the file and change the file name to your language. It needs to match the filename in Subnautica\SNUnmanagedData\LanguageFiles 3) Translation file. Don't touch the key ("AutosaveStarting"), only the translated value ("Autosave Sequence...") 4) Share the file with me, preferably via GitHub, private message or (if you must) comment on the FAQ:
Q: Is it safe to add or remove this mod to an existing save file?
A. Completely safe.
Q: Are there any known conflicts with this mod?
A. I don't think so, but I wouldn't use this mod for safe autosaves due to redundancy.
Q: Will this mod affect performance?
A. Store automatic saves using the same code as regular saves. The game will "freeze" for a few seconds after saving, then continue normally.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
