About this mod Machine translation
Allows to easily enable and disable mods without manually editing each mod.json file. In addition to being able to control individual mods, there are "Enable All," "Disable All," and "Only This" functions. It also provides dependency checking and other features.
QMod SAM (Simple Activation Manager)
Function:
Displays a list with the names, IDs and versions of all mods. The ordering of the list can be changed.
You can enable/disable one or more mods by setting or unsetting checkboxes and clicking Apply.
Using the "Enable All" and "Disable All" buttons you can enable or disable all modules with just one click.
Using the "Only this" button you can disable all modules except this one.
Supports the "Dependencies" entry in QMM 2.0 and the "VersionDependencies" entry in mod.json for QMM 2.1. This means that if you enable a mod that has dependencies defined, it will also enable all required mods. It also takes into account all dependencies of required mods. This also applies to "only this".
If the mod has defined dependencies then it will show if they are complete. If you move your mouse cursor over the word COMPLETE or INCOMPLETE, you will get a tooltip with all the required mods and their status. Any incomplete dependencies can be resolved by clicking Resolve.
You can define exclusions for "Enable all", "Disable all" and "Only this" on all mods. This means that, for example, if you set exclude "Disable all" and "Only this" for the mod "Modding Helper", SAM will ignore "Modding Helper" if you click "Disable all" or "Only this".
Supports Subnautica and Below Zero. In the list, mods are filtered after these two games. That is, if you set SAM to Subnautica's folder, all mods will be displayed, but you will only be able to control Subnautica's mods and mods suitable for both games. Inappropriate mods are grayed out and cannot be controlled. The same applies for sub-zero temperatures.
Also displays a status bar with some statistics and the QModManager version as well as the game (Subnautica/Below Zero) and their build number.
Also works if Vortex is installed. You can still manage mods using Vortex (install, update, remove) and use SAM to enable/disable mods with SAM benefits.
Ready-made reports that can be created directly to the clipboard. You can also save the report as a file (txt).
In lists, colors help detect a mod's status faster. Green means "Enabled", red means "Disabled", blue means "Plan Change" and gray means "Bad Game".
Configuration files can also be saved and loaded. Configuration files store active mods and active exclusions. If such a configuration file is loaded, only those modules stored in the configuration file are activated, all other modules are deactivated. The same applies to exclusions.
The game can be started directly from SAM, and versions from Steam and Epic Games are supported. This is especially useful for mod developers and mod testers, as they can launch the game directly from SAM after changing the mod's status. The Epic version is detected and launched with the correct parameters.
SAM does not need to be installed and does not require any runtime libraries. It runs without dependencies on any Windows starting from Windows XP, whereby Subnautica needs at least Windows Vista. SAM stores its data not in the registry, but in a standard INI in the same folder where SAM is located. SAM and its INI can also be moved to another folder at any time.
Install:
Just put QMod_SAM.exe into the Subnautica folder and Subnautica.exe will be there. Or go to the Below Zero folder where SubnauticaZero.exe is located. You can then start SAM by double-clicking QMod_SAM.exe. The first startup will automatically create an INI with default settings.
Alternatively, if the Subnautica/Subnautica path is set in the Configuration menu, you can place QMod_SAM.exe in any folder you want.
NOTE: If you want to use SAM in both games (Subnautica and Zero Zero) but keep SAM in its own folder, then just copy QMod_SAM.exe to QMod_SAM_bz …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
