Better scanning room
For those who missed the old days, welcome back one of QMultiMod's best features, the improved and customizable scanning room, now fully compatible with current modules!
Special thanks to Qwiso, PrimeSonic, SeraphimRisen and AlexejheroYTB without whom this would not have been possible.
QModManager is required! Does not work with installed Nitrox.
Simply extract the contents of BetterScannerRoom.zip to the Subnautica\QMods folder and edit the config.json file as needed; here are the defaults and what they do:
ScannerSpeedNormalInterval (default: 14.0) Initial interval (seconds) for positioning new blips
ScannerSpeedMinimumInterval (default: 1.0) sets the fastest rate at which the scanner can run after other adjustments
ScannerSpeedIntervalPerModule (default: 3.0) Each speed module added removes 3.0 seconds from the interval
ScannerBlipRange (Default: 1000.0) How far your holomap will go. You can also increase the cutoff distance on the HUD icon
ScannerMinRange (default: 600.0) The visible area in the scanner room before adding a range upgrade
ScannerUpgradeAddedRange (default: 100.0) Scanner added range per range module
ScannerCameraRange (Default: 1000.0) The distance at which the camera starts to produce noise/blur. The complete signal is lost at 2.05 times this number
Many thanks to Qwiso for their contribution to QMultiMod from which this works and is compatible again.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
