Preparation
- The Extra Crafting Materials module needs to be installed because materials such as paper are needed
- After watching Elliot's 8-Heart Incident, you will be inspired to create when you leave the farmhouse the next day
- The recipes for the writing table and binding machine can be unlocked in the crafting menu on the third day
Creation process
- **Writing Stage**
- Place paper, 1 piece of thread and 1 cup of coffee on your writing desk
- Requires 400 sheets of paper by default (the 'BookLength' option can be adjusted in the configuration)
- Default writing time is 2 weeks ('WritingTime' option can be adjusted in configuration)
- Get the manuscript upon completion
- **binding stage**
- Place 1 manuscript, 1 piece of leather and 1 bottle of glue into the binding machine
- After 5 days, your book is complete!

- **Title and Description**: Set and modify the title and description of the book in the configuration at any time

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
