Build a distillery on your farm to transform small-batch crops into a variety of alcoholic beverages

winerybuilding 🏭

💫 *There have been many attempts to introduce alcohol distillation in Stardew Valley, and this is my version. My design had one key difference: rather than adding new machines that would require building dozens of them, I would condense the distillation process down to its essence—a complete distillery building! *

Brewery Introduction

Welcome to the **Brewery**! This is a brand new farm building that distills small amounts of crops into craft alcoholic beverages. The brewery isn't something you'll get from the start of the game, though - a new special order will appear after participating in some ill-advised experiment with potato juice. After completing this order, Robin will receive construction plans for the new brewery and be able to build it on your farm.

**Building Requirements:**

  • 💰 25,000 gold
  • 🌳 10 hardwoods
  • 🔶 7 copper ingots
  • 🔷 1 iron ingot

Brewing process 🥃

The brewery building allows you to place specific crops that will be processed into various alcoholic beverages during the night. Each craft has specific recipes and outputs:

**Basic Brewing Recipe:**

  • 🥔 **5 potatoes** → **Vodka**
  • Price: 800 gold
  • Daily output: 2 bottles
  • 🌵 **3 Cactus Fruits** (no stars and silver stars) → **Mezcal**
  • Price: 450 gold
  • Daily output: 3 bottles
  • 🌵 **5 Cactus Fruit** (Venus and Iridium) → **Tequila**
  • Price: 1120 gold
  • Daily output: 1 bottle
  • 🍷 **3 bottles of wine** → **Brandy**
  • Price: 1350 gold
  • Daily output: 2 bottles
  • 🍇 **3 bottles of grape wine** → **Cognac**
  • Price: 1500 gold
  • Daily output: 1 bottle

Grain brewing process 🌾

The grains **Wheat**, **Corn** or **Amaranth** can be used to make **Malt** in a **Dehydrator**:

  • 🌾 **5 Wheat** → 1 **Wheat Malt**
  • 🌽 **5 corns** → 1-2 **corn malts**
  • 🍃 **5 Amaranth** → 1-3 **Amaranth Malt**

**Malt Brewing:**

  • 🌾 **Wheat Malt** → **Whiskey** (Price: 1000 gold, 1 bottle per day)
  • 🌽 **Corn Malt** → **Bourbon Whiskey** (Price: 1100 gold, 1 bottle per day)
  • 🍃 **Amaranth Malt** → **Scotch Whiskey** (Price: 1600 gold, 1 bottle per day)

Other brewing options

  • 🍶 **Unmalted Grains** → **Moonshine**
  • 2 wheat, 3 corn or 4 amaranth make 1 bottle of moonshine
  • Daily output: 3 bottles, selling price: 500 gold
  • ⚠️ NOTE: The Governor hates this wine and Lewis will refuse it after initial delivery. You'll have to ask around to find the regular sales locations...
  • 🍓 **Various Berries** → **Liqueur**
  • Price: 500 gold
  • Daily output: 3 bottles

Tips ✨

While the brewery can only process a limited number of items per day, you can put in as many ingredients as you want and leave them there. The brewery will process a fixed amount each day, and the output items will continue to stack until you collect them.

Additionally, the distillery calculates the conversion for each item separately, so you can throw in a bunch of potatoes and a bunch of cactus berries and have 2 bottles of vodka and 3 bottles of mezcal waiting for you the next day!

📜 **Distillation Notes**: Once you start selling alcoholic beverages through the distillery, Gus will send you a letter with detailed distillation notes documenting which crops (and how much is needed) can be distilled into which alcoholic beverage.

Compatibility extension 🔗

In addition to the alcohol from vanilla crops, there will be additional alcohol and crafting if you have the following mods installed:

**Exclusive to Cornucopia's More Crops:**

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
