VPR style interface beautification

🎮 **Have you ever wished for a UI that was a little darker but still the same color as the original? ** If so, this mod might be just what you need!

✨ Module Features

Inspired by VPR's dark wood grain tones, I tried to make a UI that wouldn't change the main cream tones of the dialog box, but instead replace the bright orange highlights with darker brown colors that were inspired by and coordinated with VPR's generally softer tones. As a result, most of the lighter original colors remain unchanged, but are now surrounded by dark borders.

⚙️ Configuration function

As of version 1.1.0, the mod now includes a config file that you can edit using a text editor or, more recommended, GMCM.

Available options include:

  • **Brown Community Center Border** - Recolored the orange border of the Community Center interface to the dark brown used by this mod
  • **Seasonal Foliage** - Recolors decorative foliage in the Community Center interface based on the current season
  • **Seasonal Packages** - Change the color of packages in the Community Center interface based on the current season
  • **Dark Cursor** - Slightly recolors the cursor to the same dark brown color as other UI elements
  • **Fishing mini-game** - Recolored the fishing mini-game's border, fishing rod, and bright green fishing strips to make it more consistent with the overall aesthetic

All options are enabled by default but can be easily disabled.

📱 Platform support

Starting from version 1.2.0, the Android version's UI has also been properly recolored.

Generally speaking, just move the recolored files into the respective mod's assets folder.

🙏 Special thanks

First of all, thank you to the friends I've made on the Stardew Valley server - without you, this would probably have remained just a personal edit.

Special thanks to Vin for patiently answering my increasingly desperate questions as I tried to figure out *what* I was looking at in these files.

Another thanks goes to Grapeponta and their Vibrant Pastoral Recolor, which originally inspired me to make these edits.

Special thanks to SugaryMask for being my test subject for testing experimental Android changes, which took longer than expected.

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)

  1. Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
  2. Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
  3. Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
  4. Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.

Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
