ValleyTalk - Unlimited AI conversations
🎮 **Bringing a revolutionary conversation experience to Stardew Valley! **
ValleyTalk uses modern AI technology to make conversations in Stardew Valley more immersive than ever. All villagers respond naturally to the farmer's dialogue based on their deep knowledge of the world - whether that's accepting an apple during a summer storm, playing with children before working on the farm, meeting a strange new farmer on the beach, or any other combination of situations.
✨ Core Functions
🌟 **Intelligent Situation Awareness**
- Villagers will react based on factors such as friendship level, season, weather, time of day, location, people present, community events, etc.
- The spouse will also learn about the buildings, animals, crops, pets, children, marital happiness, length of marriage and other information on the farm
- All villagers maintain character consistency and show unique personalities
💬 **Dynamic dialogue system**
- You can respond to villagers' questions by typing your own response or choosing from 3-4 options provided by LLM
- Villagers and spouses will remember past conversations and mention them in the future
- Farmers can have lengthy back-and-forth conversations with villagers, exploring their personalities and relationships
🔧 **High Compatibility**
- Can run simultaneously with other dialogue mods and custom NPCs
- Supports all major large language model providers, including free options
- Supports languages other than English, real-time translation using translation package or LLM
🚀 Quick Start
**Easy setup steps for using Google Gemini 2.5:**
- Visit Google AI Studio:
- Log in to your Google account (some areas require verification of age 18+)
- Click "Create API Key" and create the project, copy the returned API key
- Open GMCM in the game and find the ValleyTalk option
- Delete the existing content of the "API Key" field and paste the new key
- Click "Save and Close" and confirm that the SMAPI window displays "Successfully connected to model"
🎯 Technical details
**System Requirements:**

- SMAPI 4.1.7
- (Optional) Universal Mod Configuration Menu 1.14.1 or higher
- Content patch 2.6.1 or higher
**compatibility:**

💡 Cost of use
Completely free when using a locally hosted large language model or a free hosted model. If using a commercial LLM provider, you only pay for what you use - typically charged per million "tokens", in testing I got 100-150 conversations per million tokens entered.
📝 Notes
- In some cases, the AI may not be able to return a response in a specific format. The module will try four times to obtain a valid response.
- Responses using uncensored and NSFW language models may be unpredictable
- When using a controller, selecting responses may become difficult as conversations get longer (selectable via mouse)

Install & use Install: SMAPI mod (Stardew Valley standard)
- Install SMAPI first (Stardew Valley's mod loader): download it from smapi.io, run 'install on Windows.bat' and pick your game folder.
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and find the folder that contains manifest.json — that folder is the mod.
- Copy that whole folder into Stardew Valley/Mods/.
- Launch the game through SMAPI (run StardewModdingAPI.exe or set it as the launch option). The console before the title screen lists each mod's load result.
Cheat-style tools may not need SMAPI — unzip and run them as the readme describes. Back up your save before editing it; SMAPI lists failed mods in its console.
